21st Century Yateley Prints

These designs are a (tiny) selection from the blocks we bought from Yateley Industries for the Disabled in 2001. In reproducing them we have worked very hard to retain all the blots, pooling, inconsistencies, movements and changes of tone (in short, the faults) that go to give hand blocked cloth the life that we admire. To further reinforce these effects, we have found a linen (woven in Scotland) that has not been bleached in it’s finishing process and is neither grey nor cream so that gentle tone can add even more depth to the finished article.
